Shibu Soren, the chief of the JMM, was named in the 1993 MP bribery scandal. Four MPs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha including Shibu Soren were accused of taking crores of rupees. The CBI charge sheet mentions that four MPs, including Shibu Soren, had taken large sums of money to save the Narasimha Rao government.
झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा के चीफ सुप्रीमो शिबू सोरेन का नाम 1993 के सांसद रिश्वत कांड में खूब उछला था। शिबू सोरेन समेत झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा के चार सांसदों पर करोड़ों घूस लेने का आरोप था। सीबीआई की चार्जशीट में जिक्र है कि शिबू सोरेने समेत चारों सांसदों ने तत्कालीन नरसिम्हा राव सरकार को बचाने के लिए बड़ी रकम घूस में ली थी।
